July 2019, Wisconsin, Illinois, Day 10

Mile-3328-Nana loaded us up with breakfast and an arm load full of food for the car “just in case”. We hugged her neck and said “see you soon”.
Thanks for always taking care of us, Nana!

I was a complete head case for the next two hours en route to Chicago because I was so afraid something was going to happen that would prevent us from getting to see Hamilton. I’ve been dying to see this musical since it came out. Mae is obsessed with it and I even hear Thomas humming a little “Rise Up” from time to time. In my head, we were going to have a flat tire, or get lost, or a plague of locusts was going to descend upon us, or worse, a kid was going to puke in the car. None of these fears were realized and we made it to Chicago with time to spare!

So, we got a Chicago hot dog as one does!
It was different. I would like to suggest a Tums chaser.

Then we herded the kids to the CIBC Theater see Hamilton. It was worth every penny. It lived up to every bit of hype. It tore me apart and put me back together. And, now I want to read the Federalist papers for fun!

Finally!
It was time to check in, so we headed to the hotel. where I thought everyone might crash for the day. It took some prodding to get everyone back out the door.
#wetired

Or everyone is tired exccept for Thomas who had to sit in the car for three hours and then sit for a 3 hour musical. Now he's climbing light poles pretending he's Spider Man.

Shh....rare footage of Middle school sisters caught in the wild getting along

For dinner, we settled on Lou Malnati’s. Apparently, there is a little disagreement on who has the best Chicago style pizza. We intend to embark on a little experiment comparing the two. So far the verdict is…Lou Malnati’s has great pizza! Results could be potentially skewed because pizza tastes better when you’ve waited 2.5 hours for it and are starving.

Guuurl, you pretty.
